Sundays at the Fletchers
Sunday in our house would normally start off with the kids waking up at some ungodly hour and me and Saint Jude telling them ‘no way, back to bed!’ I give in after half an hour and it’s time for me to drag myself out of bed and make the coffees with a bit of music.
This results in me having a full on slanging match with Alexa...she never understands my Manc accent...EVER! She responds to everyone else in the house...does this happen in other homes or is it only me she doesn’t understand?
Then it’s the debate of should we stay in and have a lazy Sunday or get the kids out the house before we all get cabin fever. If we have a lazy Sunday it revolves around good food and great music. For us Sunday isn’t Sunday without either a full-Scottish breakfast or a traditional roast and my famous-ish Yorkshire puddings.
A classic roast in our house comprises; roast chicken, roast potatoes, Fletch’s (soon to be) famous Yorkshire Puddings, broccoli, carrots with honey and orange zest and lashings of gravy (we Northerners love our gravy).
Here’s a recipe to try out my Yorkshire puds for yourself... (SUNDAY ROAST)
Music is so important on a Sunday. From the easy Motown classics with your morning coffee to something a little more upbeat when you’re cooking, to a soothing playlist when you sit down to enjoy the fruits of your labour. Check out the Lad Dad’s Sunday Playlist to hear some of my favourites.
Hope you’ve had a top Sunday whatever you do!
