Light at the end of the tunnel.....
Well, it’s been a funny old year, as we come to the anniversary of lockdown, I think back to this time last year when we were oblivious that we were heading into a global lockdown that was going to last for 12 long months. There’s been ups and downs over those 12 months, unfortunately for most folk, more downs than ups, but there is light at the end of the tunnel with the nation slowly coming out of lockdown.
Like many, I was hit pretty hard and like many others, my business came to a stand still and we unfortunately didn’t qualify for much government funding. I found myself going back to the floor, (that’s retail floor not dance floor) to make ends meet and so I could keep some of my own staff with work with the little jobs we had left.
My lockdown has consisted of homeschooling, mooching and cooking so I guess it hasn’t been all bad. I have spent much more quality time with all my girls especially my daughters due to homeschooling, which believe it or not, I’ve actually enjoyed. I lost my youngest pupil little Moo (as I call her) a couple weeks back as she went back to school and I’ve one last week with my eldest Iris. As much as I can’t wait for them to get back to school back, seeing their pals and getting back to normality, I’ll not lie, I’m going to miss them (just don’t tell them that!)
I’ll still be getting my mooch’s in and keeping the cooking going. I am adding stuff to the website and I have some exciting news coming soon as we plan to step up the LadDadsGuide.
So as my girls both go back to school and the nation is coming out of lockdown, my focus now is turning back to business and getting it back on track. In turn helping other business get back open in the process.
