Happy Sunday
Hope you’ve all had a great weekend so far and you enjoyed some winter sunshiiine yesterday. We found ourselves down at Portobello beach. We’re pretty lucky really living in Edinburgh and having a beach so close to the city centre, being beside the sea is always so calming and the kids love it there. It’s great to get out and have a mooch about and you know you’ll always bump into pals as Edinburgh is a village at times (in good way of course)
The Coronavirus struck again for us this weekend, in that we couldn’t get away for a belated 40th birthday trip (gutted) A little Spa retreat at Loch Tay, up north. Yet another cancelled/rescheduled get away. But that got me thinking about getting away and how much I’ve missed travelling, exploring new and old city’s having beach days ,swimming in the sea, eating out and of course being able to DANCE. All of these things add so much value to life and that’s what we are missing this year. One of the things I’ve missed the most this year was the iconic Ibiza sunset. You can’t beat it.
This year like many other folk we had to cancel weekends away and family holidays. I’m looking forward to being able to travel again. I’ve always loved to travel, whether for work or my social life. I lived in Spain for a few years, Ibiza to be exact. What a few years that was! The music, the clubs, a real hedonistic lifestyle. In more recent years, Ibiza has been a beautiful and relaxing place for our family holidays and my two girls love the beaches and shopping in Ibiza town. So many memories and Ibiza will always have a special place in my heart. New York is another place where I feel at home.
In 2018 my wife and I got married there, in a pavilion in Central Park. The sun was shining, we had cocktails at the rooftop bar at Soho house, it really was the perfect day. I’ve visited New York on a number of occasions for both work and pleasure and there is still so much there to explore. Roll on summer 2021 when we can hopefully travel again - we have making up to do!
