Adiós 2020

2021 let’s be having you.

I think we’re all ready to see the back of 2020 and welcome in 2021, but before we do that, how was your Christmas?

I hope you all had an AMAZING Christmas and Santa was good to you all. It may not have been the Christmas you had planned for but hopefully you got to relax with your family and eat, drink and be merry. We got what we wished for - a white Christmas, all be it a little late but Frosty the snow man made an appearance

I have been getting out and about having a good old mooch, blowing away those cobwebs, as they say. It has definitely been necessary to walk off all the cheese that’s been consumed in the last few days! We do love a bit of cheese in our house. Unfortunately being put into Tier 4 on a Boxing Day has limited our options but we have been taking advantage of everything on our doorstep. We took a mooch over to Portobello, we sledged round the Links and Meadows and me and the Mrs even made it up Arthur’s seat (well partly up) taking in some breathtaking view over Edinburgh. We then almost peed our pants slipping and sliding our way back down in the snow.

Now it’s time for maybe the quietest New Year we’ve ever had, but let’s not dwell on that and let’s make the best of a S**t situation.

We’ll be eating even more cheese, drinking wine and watching good old Jools Holland in between a few of my playlists I have knocked up this year. Then on New Year’s Day I’ll be back in the kitchen cooking up a storm with a couple of classic Pie’s - Chicken and Leek and Steak with all the trimmings and loads of gravy (as us Northerners love gravy).

Recipes, method and photos will be on the website in the coming days. If you haven’t already please check out the website cook along and I’d love you to tag me in your photos, you never know, I might just do a competition for the best one!

We have a lot going on in 2021 on the Lad Dads Guide across our social media, including the new YouTube channel and also on the website too. We’ll be working with some of Edinburgh’s best hospitality hot spots, cooking up a storm and mixing some great drinks. There will be more from me and Granny Gill and of course lots more moochin

So from me to you - Happy New Year, stay safe, and keep on keeping on

Fletch x
